Julie Recinos is a nonresident senior fellow with the Strategic Litigation Project at the Atlantic Council and an international human rights lawyer, gender equality expert, speaker and professor with over twenty years of experience in social justice work. She has significant senior-level experience leading diverse teams at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the Supreme Court of Mexico, resolving complex issues, policy-setting, generating substantive programming, engaging with officials at the highest levels of government, creating multinational networks, and speaking in the media. She is an expert on international mechanisms for human rights protection (particularly the Inter-American Human Rights System), especially regarding the rights of women and children, sexual and reproductive rights, LGBTQI+ rights, gender justice, Indigenous peoples, and other groups in vulnerable situations. Recinos is an intersectional and trans-inclusive feminist.
