Lord Tim Clement-Jones was a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s GeoTech Center. He is the Liberal Democrat Digital Spokesperson in the House of Lords, the former Chair of the House of Lords Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence (2017-2018), and a former member of the Select Committees on Communications (2011-2015). Lord Clement-Jones is Co-Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial Intelligence, Deputy Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on China, and Vice Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Groups on Publishing; Writers; and Intellectual Property. He is also the Chair of the Advisory Council of the Institute for Ethical AI in Education and was Chairman of the UK Liberal Party from 1986 to 1988 where he played a major role in the merger with the Social Democratic Party to form the Liberal Democrats. Lord Clement-Jones was made CBE for political services in 1988 and a life peer in 1998. He was Federal Treasurer of the Liberal Democrats from 2005 to 2010.
