Mayowa Kuyoro is a 2023 Millennium fellow and a partner in McKinsey’s Lagos office where she leads McKinsey Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa’s payments and fintech practice and co-leads McKinsey’s women initiative in Africa.

Kuyoro has worked closely with government leaders, social sector organizations, and the private sector on issues related to growth and large-scale transformations. She has also led projects focused on business building and organization design, as well as creating strategies for foreign direct investors to accelerate growth and development in Africa. She is passionate about the role that access to finance can play in Africa’s growth and development, helping to shape and drive McKinsey’s financial institutions’ practices across the continent.

Kuyoro leads research in Africa for McKinsey’s Global Institute, which is focused on economic development and gender parity. She is the author of several reports on these topics, including “Reimagining economic growth in Africa: Turning diversity into opportunity.” She has an MEng with first class honors in mechanical and manufacturing engineering from the University of Warwick and a master’s degree in business administration with distinction from Harvard Business School.
