Mehmet Koruturk is the country head for Turkey and co-runs the Global Business Development for Genii Capital, an international financial advisory and investment firm, which specializes in brand management, promising technologies, motorsport and a wide spectrum of venture capital activities. Mr. Koruturk is a member of the Genii Business Exchange platform that uses Formula 1 (through its ownership of the Lotus Formula 1 Team – former Benetton/Renault) as a business development and accelerator tool. Previously he was an asset manager in Geneva, Switzerland, with BSI/Generali (2007-2010) and in New York, USA, with BCP/Millennium (2005-2007) where his responsibilities were portfolio management and alternative investments. He led the first preferred shares IPO in the Istanbul Stock Exchange and was the youngest M.P. candidate to run in the parliamentary elections in 2011 in Turkey. Mr. Koruturk was nominated as a “Global Shaper” by the World Economic Forum and chaired the Istanbul Hub twice, between 2012-13 and 2015-2016. He holds a B.A. (Political Science) from McGill University in Canada in Political Science and has pursued graduate studies in Hautes Etudes Internationales (HEI) in Geneva. He sits on the advisory board of MUBI (a leading streaming platform), is a Congress member of Galatasaray Sports Club and a twice alumni of the Gumball 3000 rally. He is fluent in French, English, Spanish and Portuguese in addition to his native Turkish.
