Muthiah Ponmani is a visiting fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security. Ponmani is a military intelligence expert from the Digital and Intelligence Service of the Singapore Armed Forces with close to fifteen years of experience in military intelligence and strategic communications.

Prior to his current role, Ponmani was an assistant director handling international engagements in Singapore’s Ministry of Defence. He has held various appointments in the Singaporean Ministry of Defence’s strategic communications department and in intelligence domains such as open-source intelligence and imagery intelligence, including a deployment to the Combined Joint Task Force Headquarters in Kuwait as an intelligence analyst.

Ponmani has a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Nanyang Technological University and a Master of Science in strategic studies from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies.
