Energy & EnvironmentTokollo Matsabu is a 2024 Women Leaders in Energy and Climate Fellow. Matsabu is the director of Patlong Advisory—a research consulting and project advisory start-up, providing advisory services to a variety of stakeholders engaged in the Global South. She is currently designing energy programs for nonprofits and developing natural carbon sequestration projects in Africa. She is also a graduate student at the University of London’s School of Oriental & African Studies, where she is completing an MS in global energy and climate policy with a focus on critical minerals.
Matsabu has previous experience conducting political economy and country risk analyses for energy-intensive corporations, intergovernmental organizations, and governments in Africa and the Global South.
Matsabu started her career in financial journalism at South Africa’s Business Day, after graduating from the University of Cape Town with a bachelor’s of social science in international relations, media, and writing.
