CybersecurityUrmita Chowdhury is an assistant director for trainings and competitions at the Cyber Statecraft Initiative, part of the Atlantic Council Tech Programs. In her role, she plans and executes capacity building trainings and various events, including the Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge and Digital Sherlocks.
Prior to joining the Council, Chowdhury worked with the South Asia Practice at Albright Stonebridge Group, monitoring policy developments, mapping stakeholders, and conducting political risk analysis for global Fortune 100 clients. Previously, she coordinated the 2023 Global Gathering for the US Agency for International Development’s Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance in her role as a project fellow at Encompass LLC.
Chowdhury holds an MA in international affairs from American University’s School of International Service, where she specialized in cybersecurity and emerging technology. She attained her BA in political science from the University of Delhi. Originally from Jamshedpur, India, she is natively fluent in Hindi and Bengali.
