Wairimu Karanja is a participant in the 2023 Climate Leadership Program of the Atlantic Council’s Millennium Leadership Program and a partner at Persistent Energy Capital, where she manages corporate, legal, compliance, and environmental, social, and corporate governance matters. She also supports climate-sector entrepreneurs with venture-building services on those matters. Karanja is Kenyan and is based in Persistent’s Nairobi office. She has fourteen years of legal experience in leading international firms, working on climate, energy, infrastructure, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law in Africa. Karanja is also a council member of the International Chamber of Commerce Institute of World Business Law, and a committee member of the Kenya Renewable Energy Association.
