On October 5, IPSI Senior Fellow Dexter Tiff Roberts appeared in a Financial Times article, “Xi Jinping’s last chance to revive the Chinese economy.” According to Roberts, Xi Jinping has slowed social reform to preserve party control. However, Roberts concludes that without course correction and economic reform, China will struggle to achieve high-income status as a nation.
