Middle East Strategy Task Force (MEST) Co-Chair Stephen J. Hadley, along with Atlantic Council President and CEO Frederick Kempe, led an Atlantic Council delegation to Abu Dhabi on February 18 to consult with government officials including His Highness Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed al Nayhan and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, the Foreign Minister. The delegation also met with Emirati students, civil society leaders, and members of the business community at NYU Abu Dhabi and the Emirates Policy Center think tank.
MEST, Co-Chaired by former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright in addition to Mr. Hadley, is a bipartisan Atlantic Council initiative to better understand the underlying dynamics of current crises in the region and develop a long-term strategy for supporting the people of the Middle East in building a stable, prosperous future.
