Webcast: The Entrepreneurial State
Join the Atlantic Council on Thursday, February 27 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. for a half-day conference on the significance of public private partnerships in fostering economic growth and advancing technologies.
Mariana Mazzucato, author of The Entrepreneurial State: Debunking Public vs. Private Sector Myths, will kick off the conference with an address.
Fellow panelists, to be announced, will explore the past and future roles of government, business, and the research community in fostering technological innovation and economic growth.
Mariana Mazzucato is an economist and the Reginald M. Phillips professor in the economics of innovation in the Science and Technology Policy Research centre (SPRU), at the University of Sussex. Previously, she was at the Open University as professor in the economics of innovation and, before that, at the London Business School and the University of Denver. She is a regular adviser to UK policymakers and the European Commission. She was most recently scientific coordinator of a three-year European Commission funded FP7 project on finance, innovation, and growth (FINNOV). The Entrepreneurial State was selected as one of the 2013 best books of the year by the Financial Times.
