Event description
On Thursday, September 17, 2020, the GeoTech Center hosted the fourth episode of the Data Salon Series in partnership with Accenture. The panel featured Ms. Valeria Budinich, Scholar-in-Residence at the Legatum Center in MIT’s Sloan School of Management; Mr. Derry Goberdhansingh, CEO of Harper Paige, and Mr. Bevon Moore, CEO of Elevate U. GeoTech Center Director Dr. David Bray moderated the panel, incorporating questions from a wide range of voices in the data science community.
Around the world, scores of individuals and organizations work to create a better reality for their communities, their nations, and the world . Yet, with so many players in the field, it is often difficult to coordinate between different streams of public, private, and nongovernmental data seeking to combat overlapping problems. The panelists discussed their efforts and outlined methods to connect data with the organizations who need it without exposing personal information of anyone involved. The speakers touched on personal experiences in the field of social entrepreneurship, including both their successes and challenges to learn from.
Watch the whole video above to hear more about how data is revolutionizing the social entrepreneurship space.
