Hugh Harsono is a 2025 Millennium Leadership Intensive participant whose work centers on applying emerging technologies to solve complex challenges across public and private sectors. He currently leads initiatives to implement artificial-intelligence solutions and shape product policy for developers, startups, mid-sized enterprises, and large, matrixed organizations. Previously, Harsono contributed to the development and pilot implementation of central bank digital currencies at a pioneering fintech firm. He also served as a researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s Center for Global Security Research, focusing on technology policy related to blockchain and its role in national digital infrastructure. Outside of his professional work, Harsono is a published writer, with bylines in TechCrunch, the South China Morning Post, the Diplomat, and other outlets. He holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, where he also studied economics as an undergraduate student.
