Istvan-Lorant Antal is a 2025 Millennium Leadership Intensive participant and has been a senator of the Romanian Parliament since 2018, elected in Harghita County representing the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR). He chairs the Energy, Energy Infrastructure, and Natural Resources Committee and is a member of the Economic Industry and Services and Budget and Finance Committees. In 2023, he joined the Special Committee supporting Romania’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Actively engaged in the energy sector, he helped simplify electricity and gas bills to protect consumers. Since 2012, he has been part of the UDMR Economic Committee and is president of the UDMR Organisation in Odorheiu Secuiesc.
