Andrés Celis-Madrid is a project assistant at the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, where he contributes to the center’s work on Central America, Cuba, and economic development.

Prior to joining the Atlantic Council, Celis-Madrid was an intern on the Americas team at the US Chamber of Commerce, where he contributed to portfolios across the hemisphere aimed at promoting regional economic exchange. He was also an intern on the Latin America and Caribbean team at the International Republican Institute, where he supported the organization’s work on democratic development across the region.

Celis-Madrid holds a bachelor of arts in government with a minor in Latin American studies from Georgetown University, where he served as president of the Latin American Students Association, working to create opportunities for students to network and advocate with political leaders from the region. He has lived in Venezuela and Aruba and is a native Spanish speaker.
