On October 5, 2021, Asha M George, Executive Director of the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense, was interviewed by Mimi Geerges, host of Government Matters, a multi-platform news program.  Dr George discussed the need for policymakers to learn from the COVID-19 pandemic and address critical gaps in the Nation’s biodefense before we face the next infectious disease pandemic or biological attack.  She mentioned that the Biden Administration’s American Pandemic Preparedness plan drew from a report by her Commission and focuses on development of medical countermeasures, identification of emerging diseases and rapid response.
