What’s at stake in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s 2026 elections

The Europe Center convenes an expert panel to analyze what Bosnia and Herzegovina’s October 4 general elections mean for the country’s institutional trajectory, its Euro-Atlantic path, and the wider region.

On Thursday, October 1 at 10:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center will gather experts to discuss Bosnia and Herzegovina’s upcoming general elections.

Bosnians will head to the polls on October 4, in a vote that carries significant weight for the country’s institutional trajectory and its Euro-Atlantic integration. Questions around the composition of the next government, domestic policy priorities, and the implementation of new electoral technology will have implications reaching beyond Bosnia and Herzegovina’s borders.

The Europe Center, as part of its Balkans Forward Initiative, will host a conversation to discuss what the electoral results may mean for the country, the region, and transatlantic relations.
