On Wednesday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center will host a conversation on opportunities for US-EU collaboration in the final months of 2026.
The first nine months of the year tested the transatlantic relationship and particularly the United States’ relationship with the European Union. Tensions over the ratification of the US-EU trade deal, concerns over the security of Greenland, and divergences over industrial and digital policy have strained the relationship. At the same time, dialogue in other areas relating to security issues and access to critical minerals paints a more cooperative picture in US-EU relations.
The Europe Center will convene an expert panel to discuss the key issues shaping US-EU relations, what to expect in the final months of 2026, and what opportunities exist for cooperation between the United States and Europe.
