Delivering on greater US financing in Latin America and the Caribbean

Leaders from the US government, multilateral institutions, and the private sector discuss how financing can attract American private capital to Latin America and the Caribbean.

On Tuesday, October 27, at 12:00 p.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, in partnership with CAF Development Bank, will host a hybrid conversation with leaders from the US government, development finance, and the private sector on how public financing can mobilize greater US private investment across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The United States has long been the region’s largest foreign investor, and public financing increasingly backs that footprint, including a US Export-Import Bank framework with Argentina worth up to $7 billion. The challenge now is delivery. Panelists will examine what it takes for that financing to mobilize private capital and where the strongest sectoral opportunities lie.

This event builds on the center’s report “Mapping US investment in Latin America and the Caribbean” following its July launch and the center’s September #ACinNY conversation.

New policy: In-person attendees will be required to show photo ID upon arrival, and no on-site registration will be permitted. Guests will not be admitted later than twenty minutes after the event’s start time.

By registering to attend in-person, you agree to abide by the Atlantic Council’s Event Code of Conduct.
