Shamarukh Mohiuddin is a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, focusing on Bangladesh, South Asia, and Indo-Pacific affairs. She is a foreign policy and international development expert with over twenty-two years of experience in US–Bangladesh relations, trade, economic development, gender equity, and private sector engagement. 

Mohiuddin is director and private sector engagement advisor at Cadmus Group, where she advises governments and companies on policy engagement, trade, technology, sustainability, and economic development across the Indo-Pacific region. She is also the founder of The Bangladesh Project, a nonprofit focused on strengthening US–Bangladesh relations and advancing youth and women’s empowerment initiatives. 

Previously, she served as director of economic empowerment at the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation, executive director of the US Bangladesh Advisory Council, and founder of Lift Up Asia, where she led initiatives on worker empowerment and supply chain sustainability in Bangladesh. She has engaged with the US Congress, Department of State, United Nations, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, and international organizations on policy and development issues. 

Mohiuddin serves as co-chair of the board of GoodWeave International and holds a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies.
