Ricardo Sennes and Andrea Murta Discuss the Impeachment in Brazil

By Andrea Murta

The Brazilian House of Representative voted on April 17 to approve the impeachment proceedings against President Dilma Rousseff, setting the stage for a Senate trial in the coming months. While some in Brazil criticize the legitimacy of the impeachment, others see in it a sign of political engagement and strength of democratic institutions. A day after the vote, Ricardo Sennes, Nonresident Senior Brazil Fellow at the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, explained why he is part of the second group in an interview with Andrea Murta for this edition of our Café Con… videos.
