Experts discuss how Taiwan, the United States, and other allies and partners in the first island chain can strengthen the regional deterrence architecture.

On Tuesday, September 29 at 8:00 a.m. ET / 8:00 p.m. Taipei Time, the Indo-Pacific Security Initiative (IPSI) of the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security will host a seminar on strengthening deterrence in the first island chain. 

This event is part of IPSI’s Cross-Strait and Beyond Seminar Series, which informs the public debate on key issues for Taiwan and the United States, held in partnership with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States 

Speakers will critically evaluate regional security cooperation in the first island chain and assess how Taiwan, the United States, and other allies and partners can cooperate to build capabilities, capacity, and resilience in complementary ways.
