The National Unity Government has brought forth a wave of fundamental reforms in Afghanistan. The Afghan government presented a series of comprehensive reforms during the Brussels Conference that focused on the implementation of projects to develop infrastructure, technology, and human capital. The projects aim to lead Afghanistan toward self-reliance while enhancing regional cooperation and connectivity. In this discussion, Dr. Qayoumi will expound on Afghanistan’s reform agenda and current political developments in the country. The conversation will highlight progress Afghanistan has made in lifting per capita income, encouraging merit-based appointments, and formulating multi-sector development councils for economic coordination.
