Please join the Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center for a public event featuring Ergün Olgun, chief negotiator for the Turkish Cypriot community in inter-communal talks aimed at a settlement of the Cyprus problem on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Atlantic Council. 

Mr. Olgun assumed his new position as the Turkish Cypriot chief negotiator at a pivotal time. The future of Cyprus stands at a crossroads. The peaceful resolution of the Cyprus problem, would be a crucial step in securing stability and peace in the larger Eastern Mediterranean region.

Mr. Olgun will discuss the prospects of a lasting settlement to the conflict as well as the recent energy developments in the region and how they may impact the negotiations. The remarks will be followed by a discussion moderated by David Koranyi, director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasian Energy Futures Initiative.
