On Friday, November 14, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Caribbean Initiative and Climate Resilience Center will host a virtual conversation, about how the international community can help Jamaica recover from Hurricane Melissa and prepare for the next hurricane season.

Hurricane Melissa left an estimated eight billion dollars in damage across Jamaica, shattering homes, roads, and critical infrastructure. Now, the country faces the enormous challenge of rebuilding stronger and more resilient than before.

At this event, policymakers and experts, live from Jamaica, will discuss lessons from the country’s recovery and the role of international actors in mobilizing support for long-term resilience.
