New Steel and Aluminum Tariffs:
What does it mean for US Trade with Canada, Mexico, and the European Union?

Steel and aluminum tariffs on Mexico, Canada and the European Union will go into effect at midnight tonight. The new tariffs have already generated retaliatory action from Mexico and Europe, while similar measures are anticipated from Canada. Will these actions escalate into a trade war among close allies? What will be the effect on global trade rules and US industries? And how will such actions affect ongoing NAFTA negotiations and the prospects for future transatlantic economic cooperation?

Join the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center and the Global Business & Economics Program for a public conference call tomorrow, June 1 from 12:00 to 12:30pm (EDT) for insight on what to expect around the newly imposed US metal tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and the European Union.
