Reforming the H-1B Visa System: A Conversation with Congressman Darrell Issa
Moderated by: Dr. Bharath Gopalaswamy Director, South Asia Center Atlantic Council
A discussion with: Congressman Darrell Issa Chairman of the Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet US House of Representatives
Critics contend that systemic weaknesses in the H-1B program allow companies to import cheap foreign labor at the expense of American workers. As the primary recipients of H-1B visas, skilled Indian workers would be most significantly impacted by changes to the program.
Please join the Atlantic Council for a conversation to discuss the current status of the H-1B program and ways in which it may be strengthened. In a discussion introduced and moderated by Dr. Bharath Gopalaswamy, Director of the Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center, Congressman Darrell Issa will address the reintroduction of his bill to reform the H-1B visa system.
