On Tuesday, February 18, the Atlantic Council’s WIn Fellowship will host an in-person and virtual discussion in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to explore artificial intelligence’s (AI’s) transformative role in Saudi Arabia’s economic landscape.
The economic potential of AI in Saudi Arabia is immense. PwC predicts that AI could contribute up to $320 billion to the regional economy by 2030, with Saudi Arabia and the UAE poised to reap the greatest benefits. Specifically, Saudi Arabia’s AI sector is projected to contribute $235.2 billion to its national GDP by 2030, accounting for 12.4 percent of its economy.
The strategic investments and initiatives led by Riyadh in recent years underscore the government’s commitment to economic diversification and highlight the pivotal role of AI in impacting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
As the country undergoes significant upheavals, SMEs will play a crucial role in driving growth and development. To remain competitive, they must leverage AI technologies by adopting and integrating AI-powered solutions into their operations. This event will explore how AI is already transforming SMEs across sectors, such as healthcare, education, and climate resilience.
