A discussion on how democratic partners across the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific regions can strengthen defense industrial cooperation, supply chain resilience, and strategic coordination.

On Wednesday, June 3 at 4:00 p.m. ET, the Indo-Pacific Security Initiative (IPSI) and the Transatlantic Security Initiative (TSI) of the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security will host a seminar on upgrading transregional defense partnerships.

This event is part of IPSI’s Cross-Strait and Beyond Seminar Series, which informs the public debate on key issues for Taiwan and the United States, held in partnership with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States.

As security challenges increasingly link developments in the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific theaters, trusted democratic partners are exploring frameworks for transregional defense cooperation and resilience. Speakers will discuss opportunities for the United States, Taiwan, and Europe to improve strategic coordination, including collaborating on supply chains, industrial capacity, emerging technologies, and broader efforts to bolster deterrence.

New policy: In-person attendees will be required to show photo ID upon arrival, and no on-site registration will be permitted. Guests will not be admitted later than twenty minutes after the event’s start time.

The Indo-Pacific Security Initiative (IPSI) informs and shapes the strategies, plans, and policies of the United States and its allies and partners to address the most important rising security challenges in the Indo-Pacific, including China’s growing threat to the international order and North Korea’s destabilizing nuclear weapons advancements. IPSI produces innovative analysis, conducts tabletop exercises, hosts public and private convenings, and engages with US, allied, and partner governments, militaries, media, other key private and public-sector stakeholders, and publics.

The Transatlantic Security Initiative aims to reinforce the strong and resilient transatlantic relationship that is prepared to deter and defend, succeed in strategic competition, and harness emerging capabilities to address future threats and opportunities.
