As the global community continues to grapple with the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Atlantic Council is open for business. Our business, meetings, and events, however, are occurring virtually. For more information, please read an update from our President and CEO.

Please join the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center for a virtual private roundtable to discuss a transatlantic strategy for curbing methane emissions in the oil and gas industry on Monday, December 14th, 2020, from 9:30 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. EST.

The event will feature a presentation on the European Union (EU) Methane Strategy by Brendan Devlin, Advisor in the Directorate General for Energy at the European Commission. Following this presentation, Ambassador Richard Morningstar, Founding Chairman at the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center and George Frampton, Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center will moderate a discussion on how the US and EU can best coordinate on monitoring, reporting, and reducing methane emissions. Participants will explore specific avenues for collaboration through future EU-US regulatory cooperation as well as through industry-led initiatives.

You will be able to join this conversation via the web application Zoom, which is accessible through your web browser, the Zoom desktop or mobile app, and by phone. Please register to receive Zoom information and to view a full program agenda.

The Global Energy Center develops and promotes pragmatic and nonpartisan policy solutions designed to advance global energy security, enhance economic opportunity, and accelerate pathways to net-zero emissions.
