Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine has been fought on multiple fronts over the last two years, including against Ukraine’s energy sector, which has been strategically targeted in efforts to optimize harm to the civilian population. Despite Moscow’s cruel efforts, Ukraine, with help from allies, has kept its lights on, securely transited gas to European markets, and at times, exported electricity to its western neighbors.

In observance of International Women’s Day, the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center is hosting a public, virtual event to showcase how women are driving climate and energy security action against the backdrop of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. This discussion will feature leaders in Ukraine’s public and private energy sectors and civil society, who will discuss how they continue to make progress on decarbonization, energy security measures, digitalization, regulatory reforms, and European integration despite Moscow’s ongoing aggressions. The speakers will explore opportunities for transatlantic engagement and cooperation across Ukraine’s energy sector, including feasibility studies, pilot projects, and new investments in Ukraine.

This conversation will take place virtually and will be broadcast on YouTube, X, Facebook, and LinkedIn. To receive the event information, please register using the form on this page. Learn more about the Atlantic Council’s Women’s History Month programming here.
