Achilles Tsirgis is a visiting fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Freedom and Prosperity Center.

Tsirgis is pursuing a master of public administration double degree at the London School of Economics and Columbia University. His work focuses on global governance, economic development, and policy design and evaluation. He is also a board member of the Young European Ambassadors initiative of EU NEIGHBOURGS East, the official communication program of the European Union (EU) in Eastern Partnership countries.

Tsirgis has served at the Secretariat of the Executive Office of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, and as a research assistant to the head of the Doctoral School on Common Security and Defence Policy of the European Security and Defence College.

Tsirgis has developed indexes for performance measurement and evaluation at the Hellenic Labour—Independent Authority, and for political risk on behalf of a private multinational enterprise. Additionally, he has worked in multiple EU-funded programs at the University of Piraeus Research Centre, covering EU education and innovation, migration, and the European Neighbourhood Policy.  Finally, he is a founding member and honorary president of Young European Federalists Greece, a nonpartisan nongovernmental organization focusing on European integration.
