Cameron Thomas-Shah is a 2023 Millennium fellow and foreign service officer at the United States Department of State. Thomas-Shah currently serves as the spokesperson for the US Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam, where he provides strategic guidance on public messaging and leads the press and digital media teams. Previously, Thomas-Shah held various diplomatic positions, including vice consul in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, cultural attaché in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and deputy cultural attaché in Karachi, Pakistan.

Throughout his career, Thomas-Shah has promoted US interests through civil society development programs, spearheading women’s economic empowerment initiatives. He has successfully managed million-dollar grant portfolios dedicated to advancing US economic and security interests.

Thomas-Shah is a graduate of Morehouse College and Johns Hopkins University. He has traveled extensively, visiting more than fifty countries, and he speaks Spanish and Vietnamese. Thomas-Shah is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
