Nikita Tschursin

Nikita Tschursin is a 2026–27 Millennium fellow and an executive working at the intersection of organizational transformation, technology, and operations. He currently serves as chief operating officer at BAWAG Group, where he leads technology, operations, and customer service functions. His work focuses on organizational design, AI-enabled transformation, operational resilience, and building scalable capabilities that support growth and superior customer outcomes. Prior to his current role, Tschursin led the group’s technology evolution as chief technology officer, overseeing its cloud transformation, core banking migrations, and technology integrations across multiple acquisitions. Earlier in his career, he was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, advising leading telecommunications, technology, and mining companies on strategy, operational improvement, and large-scale change programs across Europe and emerging markets. Having grown up in both Russia and Germany, Tschursin brings a cross-cultural perspective to leadership and organizational change. He holds a master of business administration from INSEAD and a degree in information systems from the University of Duisburg-Essen.
