Nina van Lanschot

Nina van Lanschot is a 2026–27 Millennium fellow and strategic lead for integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) at TNO, the Netherlands’ national institute for applied defense and security research. Building on senior roles across the European defense and security industry, she strengthens this defense capability by bridging the gap between technological development, operational requirements, and commercial viability. She supports the development of the national IAMD roadmap and helps scale high-tech defense technologies at a moment of increased European rearmament. As a member of the Peace and Security Committee of the Advisory Council on International Affairs (AIV), she has contributed to published recommendations informing Dutch parliamentary debate on space security, hybrid threats, and Ukraine. She is also a seasoned moderator at senior international forums, including the NATO Summit Defense Industry Forum. Van Lanschot began her career at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs working on the Women, Peace and Security agenda, including UN Security Council Resolution 1325, partnering with defense institutions and civil society across conflict-affected regions. Her background in diplomatic policy and a master of science in African studies from the University of Edinburgh help her place security in a broader geopolitical and human context. She works from the conviction that security and stability are prerequisites for growth and development.
