Latin AmericaSantiago Barros Pinzón is a project assistant at the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, where he contributes to the center’s work on the economic development and Southern Cone portfolios. He supports initiatives related to free trade and investment in critical sectors in the Americas, as well as special projects in Brazil and Argentina.
Prior to his time at the Atlantic Council, Barros Pinzón worked as a policy intern at Intersect Public Affairs, a private-sector lobbying firm guiding and advising clients on government affairs initiatives helping engagement efforts between Latin America and Congress.
Barros Pinzón also worked as a research and events assistant at the Georgetown Americas Institute, aiding in the construction of public convenings and public policy efforts in Latin America and the Western Hemisphere. He was also a research fellow at Guernica 37 Centre, where he contributed to the preparation of legal testimonies for international litigation related to human rights violations in Venezuela.
Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, Barros Pinzón holds two bachelor of arts degrees from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, where he graduated cum laude in political science and global studies. Recently, he graduated with honors with a master of arts in Latin American studies from Georgetown University.
