Shelly Hahn is the deputy director of the Atlantic Council’s Global China Hub where she is focused on advancing the Council’s strategic work on China and helps to oversee daily operations.
Hahn is a management professional with over two decades of executive experience in project management with US- and Asia-based multilateral agencies, consulting firms, and nongovernmental organizations. Prior to joining the Atlantic Council, Hahn worked at the World Bank and International Finance Corporation in a variety of research, monitoring, and evaluation roles covering private sector development issues and advisory services projects in East Asia and the Pacific region. Most recently, she worked at the Hong Kong Jockey Club, serving as strategic projects and planning manager, leading large-scale projects from the conception stage through to implementation.
Hahn holds an MA in international economics and China studies from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a MA and BA from Seoul National University in international relations. She speaks fluent Chinese and Korean.
