Timothy Crowder is a 2021-2022 Veterans Advanced Energy fellow at the Atlantic Council and the solar program manager at Elevate, a nonprofit organization dedicated to designing and implementing programs that ensure everyone has access to clean and affordable heat, power, and water in their homes and communities. In his role, Crowder supports solar vendors, helping them participate in Illinois Solar for All, a program that makes solar more affordable and provides greater access to the clean energy economy for underserved communities.

In his previous role at Elevate, Crowder conducted construction oversight for the utility-funded, low-income weatherization program. He also worked with Elevate’s Healthy Homes Initiative to improve indoor air quality for homeowners with medical issues. Before working at Elevate, he worked for Comprehensive Community Solutions as the energy auditor and weatherization superior.

Crowder recently completed an associate’s degree in applied science in sustainable energy systems from Rock Valley College. He received a BS in business administration from Columbia College. Before obtaining his degrees, from 2000 to 2008, Crowder served in the US Navy as a cryptologic technician and was discharged honorably.
