On January 20, IPSI Nonresident Senior Fellow Ryo Hinata-Yamaguchi was quoted in a South China Morning Post article, in which he expressed his surprise that Beijing had not yet commented on a recent visit of Japanese Self-Defense Force officers to the controversial Yasukuni Shrine.
