On November 30, Kyle Atwell, non-resident senior fellow at Forward Defense, co-authored an article in the Military Review journal with Ken Tovo and Anthony Marco. The article argues that irregular warfare and special operations forces will play a significant role in conventional warfare in the upcoming years, especially in large-scale combat operations.

Forward Defense, housed within the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, generates ideas and connects stakeholders in the defense ecosystem to promote an enduring military advantage for the United States, its allies, and partners. Our work identifies the defense strategies, capabilities, and resources the United States needs to deter and, if necessary, prevail in future conflict.
