On September 6, IPSI nonresident senior fellow Dexter Tiff Roberts was quoted in RFA regarding the widening effect of China’s property market challenges on the wealth gap. He explains that “China’s attempt to deal with $9 trillion of off balance sheet government debt is exacerbating the gap between wealthier coastal provinces and poorer ones in the interior and risks setting off economic contagion.”
