ASEAN-Canada AI Connect: Building AI cooperation in Southeast Asia

A joint initiative between the GeoTech Center at the Atlantic Council and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) that encourages the dissemination of responsible AI governance across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

ASEAN-Canada AI Connect (ACAC) is a two-year capacity-building program implemented by the Atlantic Council, in partnership with Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The program engages a cohort of Southeast Asian senior government officials and promotes interoperability in the development, implementation and governance of AI, while elevating ASEAN voices in global AI governance forums. Through regional workshops, webinar series, AI office hours, external delegations, and finally, an ASEAN-Canada bridge fellowship, the program will position ASEAN participants to develop a coordinated, influential voice in global AI forums and build capacity within the region.
