Kwame Dougan is an attorney by training, an investor by experience and an advisor by design. Kwame is the Managing Partner of Scotch + Palm Law and Strategy, the only Law and Strategy practice in the United States focused exclusively on transactions with a nexus to Africa.

In 2013, Kwame co-founded an impact investment platform to identify, invest and advise fast-growing technology companies in Sub-Saharan Africa and the diaspora. In 2015, the legal services arm of the investment fund became an independent law and strategy practice, named Scotch + Palm Private Client Law Group. Scotch + Palm’s stated mission is to Fearlessly Connect the Dots between law, finance, and social impact, especially for organizations transacting between North America and West Africa.

Kwame earned a juris doctor from Columbia University and a Master of Science from the London School of Economics, attending as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. Previously, Kwame practiced commercial litigation with global law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP.
