It is our pleasure to invite you to attend a virtual meeting of the U.S.-Japan Roundtable’s private session on grid resilience in the United States and Japan. The meeting will take place via Zoom, on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. EDT, and it will examine the Texas power failure, recent power shortages in Japan, and the lessons learned as the weather turns extreme and the two countries drive toward net zero emissions.

The June meeting will convene key stakeholders from the public and private sectors in the United States and Japan to discuss opportunities to cooperate on grid resilience and mitigate future electricity crises. Alongside strong existing collaboration between the two countries on advanced energy and decarbonization, continued knowledge sharing is crucial to develop lessons learned in light of growing extreme weather events across different geographic contexts.
