Daniel Saka Mbumba is a Millennium fellow at the Atlantic Council and a sanctions compliance project manager at BNP Paribas in Paris. He recently relocated to Paris after spending the past five years in the New York office. His work focuses on financial security risk compliance including international sanctions and embargoes, anti-money laundering, and combating the financing of terrorism. In this capacity, he helps the bank comply with international sanctions regulations by enhancing its sanctions-risk monitoring and control framework. Prior to joining the banking industry, Mbumba started his career as a management consultant at BearingPoint in Paris, helping a wide variety of clients to successfully transform their operations by leveraging enterprise solutions. Mbumba holds a master of science in statistics and software engineering from the Polytech Lille Graduate School of Engineering. He also studied at Oklahoma University. He is a Certified Global Sanction Specialist as well as a certified Project Manager Professional.
