On February 23, Forward Defense nonresident senior fellow Matthew Crouch wrote an article in RealClearDefense titled “Facing the inevitable: Preparing for the next war requires changing paradigms.” In the article, Crouch puts forth several recommendations for a holistic US policy approach to meet changing Indo-Pacific security dynamics and recognize China not just as a competitor, but an “existential threat.”
Mustering the wherewithal to meet this challenge demands a change of perspective. Shifting paradigms as described above will ensure that the United States sees and acts clearly to preserve the system that birthed unprecedented freedom and security across the globe.
