Anna Ascani is a participant in the 2025 European Leadership Accelerator hosted by the Atlantic Council’s Millennium Leadership Program. Since October 2022, she has served as the vice president of the Italian Chamber of Deputies. Formerly, she was undersecretary of state at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development in the Draghi government and deputy minister of Education during the second Conte government. She entered politics as soon as she was of age. In 2006 she was a candidate for the municipal council of Città di Castello and in 2008 she was in the regional secretariat of the Democratic Party.  In December 2012, she won the primary election and was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for the XVII legislature. She was the promoter of the first European Forum of Young Deputies, held in Brussels in December 2013. From 2014 to 2018 he was part of the Italian delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In July 2017, she was appointed to the National Executive of the Democratic Party as head of the culture department.
