Will Barnes is a 2025–2026 Millennium fellow and head of geopolitics research at Bridgewater Associates, where his team is responsible for understanding the impact of government policy and geopolitical dynamics on economies and markets around the world. Barnes works directly with Bridgewater’s chief investment officers and investment committee to integrate that understanding with the firm’s market views across asset classes. His research is regularly shared with large and sophisticated institutional investors through Bridgewater’s Daily Observations. Barnes is also deeply involved in developing and managing talent at the company, most notably through leading the firm’s investment associate internship program. He is a Council on Foreign Relations corporate leader and a board director for the US Oxford Union Foundation. He graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in philosophy, politics, and economics.
