On Friday, July 25 at 2:30 p.m. ET, the Atlantic Council will host an #ACFrontPage conversation with Pakistani Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar as he visits Washington amid heightened tensions in South Asia and renewed focus on the volatile relationship between India and Pakistan.
US-Pakistan relations are at a possible turning point, as the two countries today have opportunities to advance strategic, economic, and security cooperation. However, potential hurdles, such as Washington’s concerns over Islamabad’s growing ties with Beijing, could stand in the way.
In conversation with PBS News Hour’s Nick Schifrin, Dar will outline Pakistan’s regional outlook, address pathways for managing India-Pakistan tensions, and share his perspective on strengthening ties with the United States.
This edition of #ACFrontPage, hosted by the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative, will take place in person at the Atlantic Council’s headquarters in Washington, DC. The event will also be livestreamed on Atlantic Council TV, YouTube, Facebook, and X. To join us in person or virtually, please complete the registration form.
