Security & DefenseGiangiacomo Calovini is a nonresident senior fellow with the North Africa Program at the Atlantic Council’s Middle East Programs. He has served as a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies since 2022, representing the Brothers of Italy. In parliament, he sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Since 2023, Calovini has also been a member of the Italian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, where he serves on the Political Committee. In addition, he is vice chairperson of the assembly’s Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group.
Calovini was born in Brescia, Italy. He holds a degree in political science from the University of Parma and a master’s degree in international relations from Niccolò Cusano University.
